You might know this Philadelphia based band from NBC’s America’s Got Talent. Three brothers, Jeffery, Jesse, and Austin Allem, along with their best friend Dane Duncan make up the band 3 Shades of Blue. When they were around 8 years old, they started to mess around with instruments. “Our Mom, when we were young she taught us some guitar,” says Austin Allem, “Jesse was always into drumming.” Dane had joined the band, playing bass, in their sophomore year of high school. The guys all agree that they wanted to be musicians since they were young. “It’s like if ya know little kids, they have like a million and one different hobbies and things that they love like one day its soccer and one day its skateboarding, snowboarding, whatever games it is, but music was the one thing, the one hobby that we always kinda stuck with.”
The band auditioned for America’s Got Talent earlier this year. They chose the song, “Feeling Good”, by Michael Buble to represent their unique sound. “We wanted to do a song we felt really solid on,” says Jeffery. They were lucky enough to make it to the semifinals of such a tough competition. Jeffery states, “It was a crazy experience, different than anything we’ve done before”. “We’ve never done TV before. So that was definitely new for us,” adds Dane.
3 Shades of Blue will be recording and releasing more music soon. They are currently on the road promoting the band. They are looking forward to be touring and meeting their large fan base. Jesse states it best when he said, “We’re excited for whatever happens next.” This bands’ ability to be down to earth and their high level of motivation will certainly take them to great places
